About the position

The Manager of Talent Acquisition & People Development at Flock Freight is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the recruitment process and ensuring effective onboarding and training for employees. This position combines leadership and hands-on contributions, focusing on building a strong talent pipeline and fostering employee growth within the organization. The successful candidate will lead a small team, manage recruitment metrics, and innovate strategies to enhance the employee experience while aligning with the company's values and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the recruiting and learning & development team to ensure effective talent acquisition and employee growth.
  • Oversee the recruitment process from start to finish, including onboarding and training.
  • Partner with department leadership to understand hiring and learning needs and develop strategies to support growth goals.
  • Establish and track key recruiting metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage the Applicant Tracking System (Greenhouse) and Learning Management System (Absorb) for smooth candidate transitions.
  • Build and maintain trust through effective communication with managers, team members, candidates, and vendors.
  • Innovate and expand existing recruitment and training strategies to cultivate a strong talent pipeline.

Requirements

  • At least 6+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, focusing on full-time, highly-skilled roles in the logistics industry.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in learning & development from onboarding to upskilling.
  • At least 1 year of experience at Brokerage in a recruiting capacity or as a carrier or customer representative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of employees and third-party vendors.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and Learning Management Systems.
  • Self-motivation, exceptional time management, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification is a plus.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • A sense of humor and a positive attitude.
