About the position

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking a Manager of Talent Acquisition to join our HR leadership team. This pivotal role is responsible for the development and execution of a progressive talent acquisition strategy that aligns with industry best practices, aimed at attracting and retaining a high-quality workforce. The Manager will lead a team of recruiters and sourcers, ensuring successful recruitment across a diverse range of roles while supporting the company's growth and maintaining its culture and quality standards. In this role, the Manager of Talent Acquisition will play an integral part in the recruiting team, focusing on performance management, workload allocation, job-related reporting and analysis, and troubleshooting day-to-day issues related to aging requisitions. The position requires navigating challenging situations in recruitment and selection, which will be achieved through team member development and the implementation of effective sourcing and recruiting strategies. Building candidate pipelines and enhancing internal HR processes are also key responsibilities. Acting as a coach and mentor, the Manager will guide the talent acquisition team to reach their full potential. Collaboration with internal HR peers is essential, as this position will research and assist in implementing business practices that attract the most qualified talent. The role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, requiring employees to work onsite for nine or more days a month, and applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, supports, and manages the recruitment team, maintaining in-depth knowledge of functional and business fluency.
  • Identifies and assists in the resolution of operational issues using relevant policies and processes.
  • Promotes the company's brand through indirect recruitment and selection strategies.
  • Develops department-related KPIs and generates reporting; provides high-level summaries to company executives on all measurable areas of the department.
  • Works with HRBPs and various levels of management across the company to create recruitment strategies based on upcoming staffing requirements.
  • Participates in and manages various talent acquisition projects in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Manages the talent acquisition team, including individual goals and performance, while continuing to build a world-class talent acquisition team.
  • Stays abreast of industry and market standards related to recruitment and selection as well as the overall talent landscape; possesses an understanding of talent needs to assist in developing company growth plans and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, business administration, or related field; or 5+ years of proven experience in recruitment with a solid understanding of employment law and regulations in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and leading a high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated experience building successful and strong relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience being detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proven experience with resiliency, influence, resourcefulness, and driving change to meet the needs of the business.
  • Effective communication skills, including excellent listening skills.
  • Ability to gauge the potential of new employees, scout untapped talent, and listen to the needs and concerns of staff members.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team to successfully carry out relevant programs/processes, assessments regarding the effectiveness of applicable strategies, and coordination of roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to properly prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities while building strategies that meet overall business goals.
