About the position

The Manager of Talent and Influencer Relations is responsible for leading third-party talent engagement initiatives that serve marketing programs and campaigns for the Los Angeles Lakers. This role focuses on leveraging influencers, celebrities, and collaborators to enhance brand awareness and consumer engagement, while maintaining positive relationships across various industries. The position is integral to the Integrated Marketing Team, which aims to connect with fans through innovative marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and develops talent engagement strategies to drive Lakers business goals.
  • Researches, plans, and executes celebrity, influencer, and creator initiatives as part of larger marketing plans.
  • Manages talent marketing integrations at the arena during Lakers games.
  • Oversees talent marketing integrations for non-game engagements including training facility visits and community events.
  • Leads production deliverables for talent engagement, ensuring seamless execution with creative teams.
  • Ensures all talent engagements are on brand and compliant with agreements.
  • Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with talent, agents, and managers.
  • Reviews and evaluates inbound talent requests using a consistent assessment framework.
  • Engages with NBA teams to evaluate and plan opportunities for talent.
  • Partners with basketball operations to fulfill player requests for talent opportunities.
  • Collaborates with international marketing managers to recommend talent integration opportunities.
  • Integrates media relations plans into talent engagement initiatives with the communications team.
  • Works with business intelligence to report on talent campaign performance and insights.
  • Builds and maintains a robust talent database for ongoing execution.
  • Maintains a strong pulse on influencer and creator trends and culture.
  • Surveys sports, entertainment, and culture brands to assess third-party engagement benefits.
  • Participates in Lakers events to build relationships and drive engagement.
  • Utilizes social tools and influencer marketing platforms to identify aligned talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or related field; advanced education preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years in marketing with 3-4 years in talent and influencer marketing.
  • Proven success launching celebrity and influencer marketing campaigns for premium brands.
  • Strong talent relations background with established contacts across industries.
  • Integrated marketing experience to ensure effectiveness across channels.
  • Agency engagement or management experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $85,000 to $105,000 based on experience and skills.
