The firm is currently seeking a Manager for Tax Research and Planning within its Finance & Accounting Partner Taxes organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the firm remains compliant with current tax laws and regulations while also providing strategic insights into tax planning and research. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating and maintaining research-related resources and tools that are extensively utilized by various departments within Firm Taxes, including Partnership Tax Matters (PTM) and Partner Tax Services (PTS). This involves staying abreast of current tax law changes and developments, which is crucial for the firm's operations and its partners. In this role, the Manager will develop excel-based models to project the tax impact of proposed or enacted tax law changes, ensuring that the firm's tax positions are accurately reflected in tax returns and compliance deliverables. Collaboration is key, as the Manager will work closely with members of PTM and PTS, as well as various departments such as Finance, Human Resources, and Global Location and Expansion Services (GLES). This collaboration will help maintain the firm's compliance with various tax credits and incentive programs, requiring the review of monthly and quarterly data reports to substantiate compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax research and planning, with a minimum of four years of recent federal, multi-state, and local tax experience. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree in tax or accounting. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat Pro is essential, as these tools will be used extensively in the role. Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain research-related resources and tools used by other departments within Firm Taxes.
  • Develop excel-based models to project the tax impact of proposed or enacted tax law changes.
  • Collaborate with members of PTM/PTS to ensure tax positions are accurately reflected in tax returns and compliance deliverables.
  • Document and organize tax research positions.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Human Resources, and GLES to maintain compliance with tax credits and incentive programs.
  • Review monthly and quarterly data reports to substantiate compliance with tax programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum four years of recent federal, multi-state, and local tax experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; Master's degree in tax or accounting preferred.
  • Enrolled Agent or CPA preferred.
  • Technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat Pro required.
  • Detailed-oriented and collaborative-minded professional.
  • US Citizenship required.
