About the position

KPMG is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its Financial Systems within the Finance & Accounting Partner Taxes organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the firm's tax research resources and tools are updated and maintained effectively, which are extensively utilized by various departments within Firm Taxes, including Partnership Tax Matters (PTM) and Partner Tax Services (PTS). The successful candidate will be responsible for staying abreast of current tax law changes and developments, ensuring that the firm remains compliant and well-informed. In this position, the Project Manager will develop Excel-based models to project the tax impact of proposed or enacted tax law changes, which is crucial for both the firm and its partners. Collaboration is key, as the role requires working closely with members of PTM and PTS to ensure that tax positions are accurately reflected in tax returns and compliance deliverables. Additionally, the Project Manager will document and organize tax research positions, which is essential for maintaining clarity and compliance within the firm. The role also involves coordinating with various departments, including Finance, Human Resources, and Global Location and Expansion Services (GLES), to uphold the firm's compliance with various tax credits and incentive programs. This includes reviewing monthly and quarterly data reports to substantiate compliance with these programs, ensuring that the firm meets all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain research-related resources and tools for Firm Taxes.
  • Develop Excel-based models to project tax impacts of law changes.
  • Collaborate with PTM/PTS to ensure accurate tax positions in returns.
  • Document and organize tax research positions.
  • Coordinate with Finance, HR, and GLES for compliance with tax credits.
  • Review data reports to substantiate compliance with tax programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum four years of recent federal, multi-state, and local tax experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Enrolled Agent or CPA preferred.
  • Technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat Pro required.
  • Detail-oriented and collaborative-minded professional.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with high net worth individual tax preferred.
