About the position
The Manager, Technical Accounting at SymphonyAI is a pivotal role within the controllership team, responsible for navigating complex accounting matters and implementing process improvements. This position focuses on establishing new accounting policies, supporting financial reporting cycles, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will lead technical accounting functions, conduct in-depth research, and provide guidance to finance and accounting staff.
Responsibilities
- Establish and document new accounting policies, ensuring cross-functional implementation.
- Design and implement process improvements in consolidation and financial reporting.
- Conduct technical research and document conclusions for complex accounting transactions.
- Prepare consolidated annual financial statements under US GAAP standards and associated disclosures.
- Liaise with external auditors on key accounting matters and support accounting and finance teams during audits.
- Lead special projects and address reporting and general accounting issues.
- Provide training and guidance to finance and accounting staff on technical accounting matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in Big4 public accounting and/or large public companies, ideally in the technology sector.
- Familiarity with SOX and SEC reporting is a plus.
