About the position

Join the Royal Caribbean Group as a Manager of Technical Product, where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Amos product suite. This full-time position is based in Miramar, Florida, and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Technical Product. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the Amos product meets the needs and preferences of all internal stakeholders. You will be tasked with determining the overall vision for the Amos product, identifying and managing business requirements, and collaborating with various internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations. In this role, you will uncover and prioritize new customer needs, translating them into requirements for the Marine Maintenance Program (Amos) migration. You will evaluate and collaborate on vendor offerings, assess technical risks, and analyze data pipeline integrations with financial and vendor management systems. Additionally, you will coordinate beta tests, define success criteria for product acceptance, and facilitate the creation and maintenance of product documentation. Your analytical skills will be crucial in understanding the wants, needs, and expectations of the business, as well as in analyzing the front-end experience for customers. You will work closely with vendors and internal teams to design, test, and develop software that meets business needs, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards. Your role will also involve recommending upgrades for existing systems, documenting system aspects for future reference, and ensuring that all product implementations undergo an operational readiness review. This position requires a strong understanding of marine inventory and maintenance management platforms, as well as proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL scripting. As a Manager of Technical Product, you will be expected to demonstrate superb communication and organizational skills, with a focus on user-centered design principles and customer empathy. You will engage with customers to gather feedback and foster strong relationships, ensuring that the products and services delivered meet their expectations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Amos product suite and ensure it meets internal stakeholders' needs.
  • Determine the overall vision for the Amos product and manage business requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including developers, engineers, and quality assurance.
  • Uncover and prioritize new customer needs for the Marine Maintenance Program migration.
  • Evaluate vendor offerings and assess technical risks with the Risk Assessment & Cyber Security teams.
  • Analyze data pipeline integrations with financial and vendor management systems.
  • Coordinate beta tests and define success criteria for product acceptance.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of product documentation.
  • Analyze business wants, needs, and expectations.
  • Work with vendors to design, test, and develop software solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with security and operational standards during product design and deployment.
  • Recommend upgrades for existing systems and document system aspects for future reference.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, product management, or a relevant technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in a product management role, with at least one year in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Marine inventory and Maintenance Plan management platforms.
  • Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL scripting and triggers.
  • Strong understanding of workflow setup and computing in a distributed environment.
  • Basic financial understanding including accounts and budget codes.
  • Experience in enterprise-level VMware environments.
  • Knowledge of product development architecture and design quality standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Scrum & Agile Software development methodology.
  • Shipboard experience in Marine/IT departments for the cruise industry is a plus.
