About the position

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is seeking a Technical Project Manager who will be responsible for managing one or more technical and/or non-technical projects while supporting the development of the Global Ops Project and Portfolio Management Office infrastructure and team. This position is remote, with the ideal candidate located within commuting distance of Chaska, Minnesota. The Technical Project Manager will take ownership of the full project life cycle, ensuring successful project delivery from initiation to deployment for one to two major projects or several minor/medium projects simultaneously. In this role, the Technical Project Manager will establish and drive the achievement of Project and Portfolio KPIs through the adoption of Danaher Business Systems tools, such as Visual Project Management and Daily Management, as well as Global Ops PMO Standard Work/Methodology. The candidate will need to demonstrate business intuition to support how solutions will address project goals and will be responsible for collaborating with, influencing, and holding accountable cross-functional project teams to ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. The role requires creative and analytical problem-solving skills, with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and excellence. The Technical Project Manager will also develop and effectively communicate project risks, progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including project teams, sponsors, leadership steering teams, and executive-level key partners. Additionally, the candidate will participate in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard methodologies and tools for project and portfolio management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more technical and/or non-technical projects.
  • Support the development of the Global Ops Project and Portfolio Management Office infrastructure and team.
  • Take ownership of the full project life cycle from initiation to deployment.
  • Establish and drive the achievement of Project and Portfolio KPIs.
  • Collaborate with and influence cross-functional project teams to ensure projects are on track.
  • Develop and communicate project risks, progress reports, and proposals to various audiences.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of project management methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering or Science related field.
  • 9+ years of related experience in an operations environment, or 7+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading medium and large projects, especially technology/product transfer projects.
  • Project management trained/qualified (e.g., PMP certification or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of project and portfolio management governance, processes, and tools.
  • Global business knowledge and influence, with an understanding of different cultures.
  • Proven ability to mentor and facilitate project managers and project teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Change Management Certification (Prosci/ADKAR or other).
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience, certified Kaizen leaders in DBS.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Smartsheet, Miro, Excel, and PM software.
