About the position

The Manager of Technical & Show Operations at Universal Horror Unleashed is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the show, including audio, video, lighting, rigging, staging, and special effects. This role ensures adherence to safety standards and manages both entertainment and facilities technicians, while also coordinating with third-party vendors. The position requires a flexible schedule, including late nights and weekends, to support the unique operational needs of the attraction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day technical operations and quality assurance of Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU).
  • Oversee employees in technical disciplines including Audio, Video, Lighting, Rigging, Staging, Special Effects, and Props.
  • Manage facilities maintenance efforts including routine and emergency repairs while ensuring adherence to OSHA and Universal safety standards.
  • Partner with the Assistant Director, Tech & Show Operations to manage contracting of third-party vendors.
  • Communicate necessary information regarding technical operations to relevant parties including upper management and contractors.
  • Ensure all entertainment operating and safety standards are maintained in daily operations.
  • Drive and execute plans for Technical & Show operations team to affect TSAT, GSAT, and safety standards.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and coaching to Technical Supervisors on operational and employee relations issues.
  • Manage appropriate technical staffing for UHU, including interviewing and scheduling.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience in professional theater, theme park, corporate entertainment, or hospitality industry.
  • 5+ years of management experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 working standards.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA, ANSI, and ESTA standards preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
