The manager will set realistic revenue and product goals, understand the competitive landscape, and develop plans to maximize account potential. This includes promoting Argos products, particularly in the masonry and stucco segments, and providing technical assistance to resolve product and service issues. The manager will gather intelligence on customers and competitors, maintain strong customer relationships, and provide training and education to clients. Active participation in trade associations and highlighting innovation opportunities will also be part of the responsibilities. The position requires effective call planning to ensure adequate coverage of the territory, managing working capital goals, and delivering value to customers. The Territory Sales Manager will utilize Summit and Argos systems for accurate forecasting, pricing, and reporting, while demonstrating a commitment to safety policies in all work environments. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in sales, particularly in the building materials supply industry, who possesses excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain a business strategy to gain or protect market share for accounts in the territory.
  • Lead marketing and sales efforts within the sales territory.
  • Provide basic technical service to Summit/Argos customers.
  • Monitor the quality and performance of Summit/Argos and competitive products in the territory.
  • Create clear business strategies for each account to increase share and account penetration.
  • Develop realistic revenue and product goals.
  • Identify and understand the competitive landscape.
  • Develop plans to maximize account potential and implement District Strategies.
  • Promote the use of Argos products, focusing on masonry and stucco segments.
  • Provide basic technical assistance and troubleshoot product and service issues.
  • Gather territory intelligence on customers, competitors, and potential customers.
  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships and provide training and education to customers.
  • Participate actively in trade associations as requested.
  • Highlight innovation and product development opportunities.
  • Develop an effective call planning system for adequate territory coverage.
  • Manage working capital goals by meeting DSO and SG&A objectives.
  • Utilize Summit and Argos systems for accurate forecasts, pricing, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in building materials supply or associated industries.
  • Proactive, organized, results-oriented self-starter with high energy and drive.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong presentation, training, and computer skills with analytical and conceptual abilities.
  • Knowledge of segment-based marketing methods.
  • Entrepreneurial skills and business acumen.
  • Residence within the sales territory is required.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend meetings.
