About the position

The Manager Test Engineer I position at Northrop Grumman involves leading the RF Test team while also contributing technically to projects. This role requires a blend of management and technical expertise, overseeing test activities, ensuring compliance with security procedures, and maintaining operational readiness of test facilities. The position is crucial for supporting military aerospace applications and involves collaboration across various engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a functional manager, providing direct supervision to the RF Test staff and performing as a technical contributor.
• Coordinate test activities and work cross-functionally with Operations and Engineering to derive specific tasks for team members.
• Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with security procedures and CONOPS.
• Develop and maintain best practice department standards for RF Test.
• Manage RF test laboratories and maintain operational readiness of all critical equipment.
• Oversee lab budgets and direct labor rates, including periodic reviews with finance.
• Support marketing inquiries and proposals for RF Test opportunities.
• Conduct performance reviews and manage direct report timekeeping.
• Participate and/or lead RF Test team meetings and cross-functional meetings.
• Manage training and development for direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, technical management, or closely related field.
• 7 years of industrial experience in RF Test related activities.
• Ability to maintain a U.S. Government SECRET clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Active SECRET clearance with prior access to Special Access Programs (SAP).
• 10 years' experience in RF Test industrial experience and supervisory roles.
• Hands-on experience with Compact Range operations and RF Test equipment.
• Experience with qualification testing and environmental stress screening.
