About the position

X-energy, LLC is seeking a Manager of Test Engineering to lead the Development Testing team. This role involves managing the technical planning, execution, and staffing of development testing projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes while adhering to business standards and practices. The manager will coordinate with various stakeholders, oversee testing activities, and promote professional development within the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning and execution of test activities for assigned projects using sound engineering principles.
• Direct the work of individual contributors and manage resource and organizational needs.
• Oversee subcontractors and test facilities, ensuring successful delivery of test engineering work products.
• Engage with universities, private contractors, and national labs for experimentation and testing.
• Create and implement test plans, procure materials and facilities, and review test output data.
• Manage test engineering staff, ensuring they meet expectations and promoting their professional development.
• Influence the development of strategy, methodology, and technical tools for the area of responsibility.
• Interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products and processes.
• Make decisions and handle complex tasks in operations, product management, technology, or engineering.
• Ensure testing activities comply with Quality Assurance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or nuclear engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
• Typically ten plus years of professional experience in engineering after completion of undergraduate study.
• Hands-on experience with hardware development, testing, and experimentation.
• Demonstrated experience with design of experiment and test planning.
• Experience working under a formal quality assurance framework such as ISO 9000, ASTM, or NQA-1.
• Leadership experience on hardware and testing related projects.
