About the position

The Manager, Ticketing & Event Marketing position at Harford Community College is designed to oversee the ticketing operations for the College and its clients while providing essential marketing support for events and facility rental sales on campus. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all ticketing operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the College's events. The Manager will work closely with the Director to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans tailored for shows, facility rental promotions, and other departmental needs, all while adhering to the brand identity established by HCC's Communications Department. In addition to managing ticketing operations, the Manager will be responsible for front-of-house coverage during events, ensuring that attendees receive top-notch customer service. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle special projects as they arise. The Manager will also play a key role in promoting events through various marketing channels, including social media, to enhance visibility and attendance. This is an exempt, professional staff position that requires regular on-campus work, including evenings and weekends based on the event schedule. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to enriching the community through educational and cultural offerings, aligning with the College's mission of growth, achievement, inspiration, and contribution.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee ticketing operations for the College and its clients.
  • Provide marketing support for events and facility rental sales on campus.
  • Assist the Director in developing and executing marketing plans for shows and promotions.
  • Ensure adherence to the brand identity set forth by HCC's Communications Department.
  • Manage daily ticketing operations and box office functions for all ticketed events.
  • Support the department with special projects as needed.
  • Provide front of house coverage during events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum one year experience in marketing and/or ticketing operations.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in the creation and execution of marketing plans.
  • Proficiency in operating a ticketing sales platform (University Tickets is the current platform).
  • Experience in social media management.
  • Strong understanding of customer service and communication.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (such as InDesign) or Microsoft Publisher.
  • Experience with other graphic design software.
