About the position

The Manager, Title Risk & Audit position at Essent Guaranty, Inc. is an advanced level role focused on managing title risk protocols and conducting audits of agents. Reporting to the Director of Counterparty Risk & Audit, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, assessing risk, and developing mitigation strategies. The role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, to support risk management processes and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and review agency onsite reviews to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Perform escrow bank statement reviews and title policy file reviews to oversee title insurance issuance.
  • Review new agent approval requests and recommend scope and restrictions.
  • Communicate results internally and externally using internal CRM tools.
  • Ensure proper processing and retention of supporting documentation.
  • Monitor industry changes affecting risk management and agent operations.
  • Assist in developing and improving title processes and documenting policies.
  • Work with agents and the BD team on policy changes and variances.
  • Track variance utilization and perform ongoing monitoring routines.
  • Compile reports and presentations to highlight risks and proposed solutions.
  • Identify potential areas of risk and propose strategies to mitigate them.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in management, business, finance, operations, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Five or more years in the mortgage industry, preferably evaluating mortgage companies.
  • Title insurance underwriting experience and real estate transactional background preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in real estate closings, title insurance, escrow, and underwriting audits.
  • Strong analytical, qualitative, and quantitative skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with superior analytical abilities and team working capabilities.

  • Experience with ALTA Best Practices.
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies and strategies.
