There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
The Manager in Training (MIT) position at AutoZone is designed as a short-term transitional role that provides both work assignments and training opportunities to prepare individuals for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Upon entering the AutoZone MIT program, candidates may progress to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, contingent upon their prior experience and performance during the training period. This role is integral to the management team, where the MIT is expected to embody the company's values, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive store execution and performance. As part of their responsibilities, the MIT will work closely under the supervision of the Store Manager to maintain an engaged and productive store team through strong leadership. This includes demonstrating initiative and leading by example. The MIT will support the Store Manager in various operational aspects, including overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation. Key responsibilities also encompass financial management, where the MIT will manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly Profit and Loss statements, as well as oversee employee staffing, training, and development. Additionally, inventory management and customer service leadership are critical components of the role. MITs are required to complete operations and management skills training while learning about key business aspects and the AutoZone culture. To remain in the pipeline for management openings, MITs must maintain satisfactory performance and demonstrate consistent progression through the training program. It is important to note that selection for the MIT position does not guarantee promotion into a Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager position, as actual promotion depends on various factors, including performance and the availability of management openings.
