About the position
The Manager Trainee (MIT) position at AutoZone is a transitional role designed to prepare individuals for management positions within retail or commercial store operations. This role involves a combination of work assignments and training opportunities, with the potential for promotion to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance. MITs are integral members of the management team, responsible for driving store performance, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting the Store Manager in various operational aspects.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in overall store management and policy implementation.
- Manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly P&L statements.
- Oversee employee staffing, training, and development.
- Lead inventory management efforts.
- Provide leadership in customer service initiatives.
- Complete operations and management skills training to learn about key business aspects and AutoZone culture.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of previous experience as a retail manager or supervisor.
- Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including morning, night, and weekend shifts, and to work overtime as needed.
- Bilingual preferred, but not required.
- Previous automotive experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience analyzing company financials including Profit and Loss Statement preferred, but not required.
