About the position

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to provide work assignments and training opportunities to prepare individuals for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. The program allows for potential progression to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in overall store operations and management.
• Maintain an engaged and productive store team through strong leadership.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and drive store execution and performance.
• Manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly P&L statements.
• Oversee employee staffing, training, and development.
• Handle inventory management and customer service leadership.
• Complete operations and management skills training and learn about key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of previous experience as a retail manager or supervisor.
• Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including morning, night, and weekend shifts, and to work overtime as needed.
• Bilingual preferred, but not required.
• Previous automotive experience preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience analyzing company financials including Profit and Loss Statement preferred, but not required.
