About the position
The Manager, Transmission Development, Policy and Contracts at Portland General Electric (PGE) leads the Transmission Services team, focusing on compliance with the Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) and the development of policies and strategies for regional transmission investments. This role involves managing a team of professionals, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and representing PGE in state and regional forums to ensure effective transmission service delivery and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the transmission business line's development and origination, interconnection, sales, analysis, and contract administration functions.
- Provide technical management for the team, ensuring objectives are met and standards/procedures are followed.
- Direct Transmission Services operations relevant to reliability, scheduling, accounting, and delivery of services to customers.
- Identify and implement changes in business processes to protect customer interests and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop policies, strategies, and improvements for PGE's transmission and market activity.
- Lead advocacy and strategy development for transmission issues affecting PGE.
- Monitor and manage financial expenditures and ensure targets are met.
- Oversee resourcing decisions and planning for the team, partnering with HR for recruitment and evaluation.
- Review organizational development needs and provide guidance for team training and development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience.
- Eight or more years of utility technical or operations experience, preferably in organized markets and ancillary products.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the CAISO market preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
