About the position

The Manager - Treasury Quantitative Development at Ally Financial is a pivotal role focused on centralizing, modernizing, and automating Treasury data pipelines. This position is designed for an ambitious individual eager to enhance operational efficiency and improve data visibility in real-time and end-of-day scenarios. The role involves collaboration with Treasury leaders and IT partners to gather requirements and implement strategic projects that provide significant benefits to the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Build, implement, deploy, maintain, improve, store, and automate end-of-day and real-time processes, model outputs, and centralized data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with Treasury leaders and partners to gather requirements and feedback for efficient, agile, tactical, and strategic projects.
  • Work with Treasury IT partners to prioritize development, testing, project management, and product ownership in accordance with Ally policies and standards.
  • Develop clear and coordinated Python code in line with PEP8 standards and internal guidelines.
  • Build Python code for internal and vendor wrappers, data APIs, models, web servers, and dependency scheduling.
  • Identify and eliminate manual processes and single points of failure across all of Treasury.
  • Self-sufficiently identify defects, gaps, and pitfalls, and rapidly overcome them with robust long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate and consult with business and IT partners across multiple lines of business, Risk, Accounting, and Treasury.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree or equivalent experience in Computational Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of Treasury, Capital Markets, Accounting, Balance Sheet, Finance, Risk, or relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of process automation and graphical display development experience.
  • 3+ years of development experience using a mainstream programming language, preferably Python.
  • 3+ years of data modeling experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of data pipeline and IT architecture experience.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, data normalization, indexing, joins, primary and foreign keys.
  • Familiarity with React, Vue, Angular or any other web user interface framework.
  • Familiarity with a mainstream source control system.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems computing.
  • Familiarity with AWS components like ECS, CI/CD pipeline, and cloud capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure As Code Tools like Terraform.
  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal) skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CI/CD processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
