About the position

The Manager, UI Development at Inland Empire Health Plan is a technical leadership role focused on the design, development, and deployment of front-end technologies. This position requires a deep understanding of UI trends and the ability to translate business requirements into innovative technical solutions. The manager will lead a team of UI developers, collaborate with UX designers, and ensure the implementation of best practices in UI development while promoting process optimization and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on UI development and front-end technologies.
• Visualize and build complex user experiences using modern front-end technologies.
• Manage and mentor a team of UI developers, guiding their career growth and technical skills.
• Collaborate with UX and Visual designers to provide front-end technology solutions.
• Assess the impact and benefits of current and future front-end technologies.
• Architect and design innovative solutions aligned with user needs.
• Work with digital and engineering teams to select and advocate for front-end technologies.
• Act as the go-to person for solving complex UX and UI problems.
• Stay informed about modern front-end technologies and prepare teams for future advancements.
• Hire, train, and evaluate support staff, conducting performance reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Six or more years of experience in front-end development for software applications.
• Three or more years of leadership experience in a technical role.
• Expert knowledge in JavaScript libraries such as React, Angular, and Vue.
• Hands-on experience with CSS preprocessors like LESS and SASS.
• Experience in building UI for AEM and familiarity with design patterns.
• Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and XML.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Agile Development Methodology.
• Familiarity with performance analysis and caching mechanisms.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices for UI development.
• Experience in a hybrid work environment.
