KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assist multi-state companies with state unclaimed property matters including audit defense, voluntary compliance, annual reporting, developing policies and procedures, and consulting.
  • Support multi-state companies with unclaimed property audits which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, reviewing document requests, reviewing audit assessments, and representing the client at meetings.
  • Review unclaimed property compliance processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Support KPMG audit teams with review and analysis of unclaimed property reserves.
  • Research and draft technical memoranda regarding the jurisdictions unclaimed property compliance rules.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of recent unclaimed property experience with audit defense, voluntary compliance, process reviews, developing policies and procedures; minimum three years of recent financial statement audit experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, CMI, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or MTX (master's in taxation), in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials.
  • Ability to develop business and foster client relationships.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and research skills.
