KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist multi-state companies with state unclaimed property matters including audit defense, voluntary compliance, annual reporting, developing policies and procedures, and consulting.
- Support multi-state companies with unclaimed property audits which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, reviewing document requests, reviewing audit assessments, and representing the client at meetings.
- Review unclaimed property compliance processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Support KPMG audit teams with review and analysis of unclaimed property reserves.
- Research and draft technical memoranda regarding the jurisdictions unclaimed property compliance rules.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of recent unclaimed property experience with audit defense, voluntary compliance, process reviews, developing policies and procedures; minimum three years of recent financial statement audit experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
- Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, CMI, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or MTX (master's in taxation), in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials.
