About the position

The Manager, Video Editor is a creative leader responsible for producing high-quality video content that enhances Silversea's brand. This role involves managing a team, overseeing video production and post-production processes, and collaborating with various departments to deliver compelling visual narratives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in video editing, a strategic mindset, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while driving innovation in visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects, conventions, and processes.
  • Perform complex video editing tasks, including adding graphics, special effects, and animations.
  • Manipulate film and video footage using modern editing techniques.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure cohesion between script and visual plan.
  • Digitize, edit, and color correct footage using Adobe Premiere Pro, adding motion graphics and effects in Adobe After Effects.
  • Review video assets after production to determine selects for team usage.
  • Assist the visual designer with high-resolution digital retouching.
  • Organize videos under the designated folder structure.
  • Create master clips and encode to multiple formats for distribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Film or Media Arts preferred.
  • 7 - 10 years of professional experience in video editing and image retouching.
  • Portfolio of completed work required.
  • Experience working in a studio or agency preferred.
  • Knowledge of printing processes for color adjustment and file building techniques.
  • Expert knowledge of editing processes on Adobe Premiere.
  • Strong color management and color theory skills required.
  • Expert working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Understanding of current and emerging digital media formats and encoding schemes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow creative direction and build upon creative ideas.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to provide guidance to other creatives.
  • Knowledge of sound editing and advanced color grading techniques.
  • Ability to use DSLR, digital cinema, or professional camcorders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in email HTML and front-end UI/UX design.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing principles, specifically email marketing best practices.
  • Knowledge of design as it pertains to email marketing and digital media unit design.
