About the position

The Manager of Virtual Nursing at MercyOne is responsible for leading a designated nursing area, overseeing patient care activities, unit operations, and staff development. This role requires 24-hour accountability for patient care, promoting evidence-based practices, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The manager will also handle recruitment, performance appraisals, and budget management while collaborating with various departments to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote evidence-based practice and research among unit leaders and staff.
• Direct recruitment and retention activities on the unit.
• Conduct performance appraisal processes for staff.
• Administer nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
• Develop and maintain departmental staffing plans based on operational needs.
• Collaborate with other departments in budget preparation and monitoring.
• Facilitate efficient operation of unit activities and ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Supervise assigned management staff and provide necessary education and support.

Requirements

• Experience in nursing management and leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of nursing standards and practices.
• Ability to develop and implement operational plans and policies.
• Experience in budget preparation and financial management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
