About the position

The Warranty Administration Manager will lead the Warranty Department at DENSO's Long Beach Office, overseeing warranty claims and ensuring effective management of financials and budgets related to warranty and quality. This role requires prior managerial experience and a bachelor's degree in a finance-related discipline, focusing on cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement in warranty processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create, monitor and manage company financials and budgets as they relate to warranty and quality.
  • Establish and manage controls for warranty claim judgment, acceptance/rejection, payment and reporting.
  • Accurately monitor claims to ensure senior management has visibility to claim payment and fiscal impact.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure cross-functional communication and resolution of product issues.
  • Develop and record processing procedures for customers and vendors and maintain warranty agreement records.
  • Create methodologies to recover warranty costs from suppliers.
  • Train customers and sales associates to properly inspect parts prior to claim submission.
  • Establish key KPIs for areas of responsibility and develop reporting to show current status and improvements.
  • Develop new and improve existing processes to lower warranty liabilities for cost reduction.
  • Manage departmental budget development and tracking, expense forecasting, and staff workload.
  • Manage the daily work of warranty claims administrators and analysts, providing coaching and counseling.
  • Set attainable goals relating to organizational objectives and assess achievements.
  • Ensure associates are developed and trained for increasing responsibilities and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems or related field.
  • More than 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience with an automotive distributor, manufacturer or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Experience with DOMO and Power BI.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated competency in working with computer software (Oracle, AS400/BPCS, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to resolve complicated situations and anticipate customer needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic or web-based warranty processing system development and testing.
  • Kaizen mindset and ability to apply the PDCA process.
