About the position

The Manager at Whataburger is a key business partner responsible for collaborating with the General Manager to lead the team and achieve operational goals. This role focuses on ensuring health and safety standards, recruiting and training staff, and driving sales through effective customer service strategies. The Manager will also participate in a skills development program to enhance their career growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Protects and promotes the Whataburger Brand at all times.
• Schedules training as directed by the units/shift staffing plan.
• Maintains professional relationships with Team Members.
• Communicates all harassment complaints and other complaints involving Whataburger policy violations to appropriate management.
• Prepares and presents ideas and recommendations to Team Members and upper management.
• Uses on-the-spot training to improve performance and provides positive feedback.
• Evaluates Team Member performance by meal period and provides feedback to Team Members and General Manager.
• Conducts skill assessments to evaluate food production, customer service, and speed of service.
• Ensures effective product handling and storage procedures are practiced.
• Tracks and audits sales, food, labor, cash, and expense items each day.

Requirements

• Experience in a managerial role within the food service industry.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Familiarity with sales and marketing strategies.
• Certification in food safety and sanitation.
