About the position

The Front of House Manager at Luke's Kitchen and Bar is responsible for overseeing all operations within the restaurant, ensuring a seamless service environment and an exceptional guest experience. This full-time role offers significant potential for career advancement within a growing restaurant group, requiring a passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to excellence in service.

Responsibilities

  • Interview and hire for the restaurant's Front of House positions.
  • Manage the training of servers, bartenders, hosts, and server assistants.
  • Ensure attention to all details of the restaurant, including cleanliness and guest experience.
  • Assist with expediting food from the kitchen when necessary.
  • Oversee large private events and ensure they are executed flawlessly.
  • Assist with the hostess stand, organizing the floor plan and potential waitlist.
  • Direct staff to handle unexpected situations and guest concerns during shifts.
  • Create regulars by going above and beyond for guests, remembering names and faces.
  • Utilize Excel spreadsheets, email etiquette, and proper cash handling.
  • Review all menu documents daily.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in polished casual/fine dining full-service restaurant.
  • Prior management experience preferred as Front of House Restaurant Manager.
  • Experience with liquor, beer, and wine inventory controls.
  • Management experience in hiring, firing, training, and disciplining staff.
  • Leadership skills to keep staff motivated and focused.
  • Proficiency with Micros Point of Sale systems is recommended.
  • Hands-on leadership ability to coach the Front of House team.
  • Conflict resolution skills to manage staff conflicts and guest concerns.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Passion for engaging with guests and providing excellent service.
