About the position
The Queens County District Attorney's Office is seeking a Managerial Position in the Hate Crimes Bureau. This role involves managing a vertical case load of felony cases related to hate crimes, collaborating closely with the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force, and engaging in community outreach to educate the public and law enforcement about hate crime prosecution. The manager will supervise attorneys and support staff in their investigations and prosecutions.
Responsibilities
- Handle the vertical case load of felony cases involving hate crimes.
- Investigate possible bias cases and prosecute hate crimes.
- Work extensively with members of the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force.
- Conduct community outreach to impacted groups.
- Educate the public and law enforcement on hate crime prosecution.
- Supervise attorneys and support staff in the Hate Crimes Bureau.
Requirements
- J.D. degree and active member of the New York State bar in good standing.
- At least 7 years of experience as a prosecutor.
- Substantial grand jury and felony trial experience.
- Experience in investigations, including drafting search warrants.
- Strong organization, written, and oral skills.
- Talent and proficiency with PowerPoint presentations.
