About the position

The Managing Consultant role at Korn Ferry involves building strong partnerships with Legal clients and candidates through business development and full life-cycle recruitment. This position requires collaboration with the search execution team to deliver high-quality recruitment services while acting as a trusted advisor to clients. The role emphasizes developing targeted recruitment strategies, managing the recruitment process, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Work with hiring managers to scope search projects by obtaining detailed job specifics.
  • Lead and develop comprehensive targeted recruitment strategies within the Legal landscape.
  • Effectively evaluate candidate qualifications through thorough interviews.
  • Communicate candidate experiences and qualifications to clients and advise on their backgrounds.
  • Manage and negotiate the selection and offer process, including compensation and benefits.
  • Oversee the recruitment life cycle from search kick-off to closure to meet 'time to fill' goals.
  • Develop and manage strong business relationships with clients for successful placements.
  • Drive new business with existing customers and develop relationships with Korn Ferry Executive Search.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with candidates, providing superior candidate care.
  • Ensure timely scheduling and confirmation of interviews and compliance with applicant tracking systems.
  • Identify and leverage new recruitment and business development sources.
  • Provide project updates to management and escalate issues as necessary.

Requirements

  • 5 years of business experience, preferably from a law firm or legal recruiting background.
  • 5 years of experience as a full life-cycle recruiter, including cold calling and client/candidate management.
  • Business development experience.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to learn about different business environments.
  • Consultative mindset with the ability to anticipate client needs.
  • Experience in candidate sourcing through traditional and creative channels.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth interviews and evaluate candidate profiles.
  • Exceptional customer service focus and attention to quality results.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various recruitment projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-initiative and responsiveness to client requests.
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and effectively deal with change.
  • PC proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • J.D. is highly preferred.
