About the position

The Managing Consultant at Korn Ferry plays a crucial role in the Legal Search Division, focusing on building strong partnerships with clients and candidates through effective business development and full life-cycle recruitment. This position requires collaboration with hiring managers to define job specifics, develop targeted recruitment strategies, and manage the recruitment process to ensure timely and successful placements. The consultant acts as a trusted advisor, contributing to the integrated solutions sales strategy of Korn Ferry while providing exceptional candidate care and maintaining strong professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Work with hiring managers to scope search projects by obtaining information that clearly defines the specifics of the job including responsibilities, requirements, compensation, and company culture.
  • Lead and develop comprehensive targeted recruitment strategies within the Legal landscape for qualified candidates via cold calling, direct sourcing, database mining, client referrals, local advertising, networking, and professional communities.
  • Effectively evaluate candidate qualifications by conducting thorough interviews.
  • Communicate each candidate's experience and qualifications for the opportunity and advise clients on candidate background, expertise, and career potential.
  • Manage and negotiate the selection and offer process, including candidate compensation, benefits, relocation, and pre-close of the candidate.
  • Manage the recruitment life cycle from search kick-off through closure to ensure 'time to fill' goals are achieved.
  • Develop, drive, and manage strong business relationships with clients to ensure successful placements and guarantee customer satisfaction.
  • Drive new business with existing customers and prospects and develop relationships with Korn Ferry Executive Search to grow business with key customer accounts.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with candidates by providing superior candidate care, including defining position requirements and recruiting processes, timely updates on progress, interview preparation, and debriefing.
  • Ensure interviews are scheduled and confirmed in a timely manner, maintain applicant tracking system compliance, and send all HR and/or recruiting-related correspondence to candidates.
  • Identify and leverage new recruitment and business development sources.
  • Provide project updates to management, client contacts, and stakeholders and escalate issues in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business experience, preferably from a law firm or legal recruiting background.
  • 5+ years of experience as a full life-cycle recruiter, including cold calling, developing search strategies, and client/candidate management.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to quickly learn about different business environments and cultures by asking the right questions.
  • Consultative mindset and ability to anticipate client needs.
  • Candidate sourcing through traditional and creative channels.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth interviews and evaluate candidate profiles.
  • Exceptional customer service focus, including attention to producing quality results.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various recruitment projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-initiative along with the ability to respond quickly to client requests.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and, as needed, to handle project leadership responsibility.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to new processes and effectively deal with change.
  • PC proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
