About the position

The Managing Consultant at Korn Ferry is a key role within the Legal Search Division, responsible for building strong partnerships with legal clients and candidates through business development and full life-cycle recruitment. This position requires collaboration with the search execution team to deliver high-quality recruitment services while acting as a trusted advisor to clients. The role emphasizes the importance of understanding client needs, developing targeted recruitment strategies, and ensuring successful placements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with hiring managers to scope search projects by obtaining detailed job specifics including responsibilities, requirements, compensation, and company culture.
  • Lead and develop comprehensive targeted recruitment strategies within the Legal landscape for qualified candidates through cold calling, direct sourcing, database mining, client referrals, and networking.
  • Evaluate candidate qualifications through thorough interviews and effectively communicate their experience and qualifications to clients.
  • Manage and negotiate the selection and offer process, including candidate compensation, benefits, and relocation.
  • Oversee the recruitment life cycle from search kick-off to closure, ensuring 'time to fill' goals are met.
  • Develop and manage strong business relationships with clients to ensure successful placements and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive new business with existing customers and develop relationships with Korn Ferry Executive Search to grow business with key accounts.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with candidates by providing superior candidate care and timely updates on the recruitment process.
  • Ensure timely scheduling and confirmation of interviews, compliance with applicant tracking systems, and communication with candidates.
  • Identify and leverage new recruitment and business development sources.
  • Provide project updates to management, client contacts, and stakeholders, escalating issues as necessary.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business experience, preferably from a law firm or legal recruiting background.
  • 5+ years of experience as a full life-cycle recruiter, including cold calling and client/candidate management.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to learn about different business environments and cultures.
  • Consultative mindset with the ability to anticipate client needs.
  • Experience in candidate sourcing through traditional and creative channels.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth interviews and evaluate candidate profiles.
  • Exceptional customer service focus and attention to producing quality results.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various recruitment projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-initiative and responsiveness to client requests.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and handle project leadership responsibilities as needed.
  • Willingness to adapt to new processes and effectively deal with change.
  • PC proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
