About the position

The Managing Consultant at Korn Ferry plays a crucial role in the Retained Legal Search Division, focusing on building strong partnerships with Professional Search clients and candidates. This position involves full life-cycle recruitment for legal and legal-adjacent roles, emphasizing business development and delivering high-quality work products. The consultant acts as a trusted advisor, contributing to Korn Ferry's integrated solutions sales strategy while ensuring successful placements and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct business development activities to bring new searches to Korn Ferry's Professional Search Division.
  • Identify and leverage new recruitment and business development sources.
  • Work with hiring managers to scope each search project, defining job specifics including responsibilities, requirements, compensation, and company culture.
  • Lead and develop comprehensive targeted recruitment strategies, including cold calling and direct sourcing.
  • Evaluate candidate qualifications through thorough interviews prior to client presentation.
  • Communicate candidate experience and qualifications effectively to clients and advise on their background and career potential.
  • Manage and negotiate the selection and offer process, including candidate compensation and benefits.
  • Oversee the recruitment life cycle from search kick-off through closure to meet 'time to fill' goals.
  • Develop and manage strong business relationships with clients to ensure successful placements and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive new business with existing customers and develop relationships with Korn Ferry Executive Search.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of legal search experience.
  • Experience working in a law firm or legal recruiting background.
  • 5+ years of experience as a full life-cycle recruiter, including cold calling and client/candidate management.
  • Demonstrated business development experience and success.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to learn about different business environments and cultures.
  • Consultative mindset with the ability to anticipate client needs.
  • Exceptional customer service focus and attention to producing quality results.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various recruitment projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-initiative and ability to respond quickly to client requests.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and handle project leadership responsibilities as needed.
  • Willingness to adapt to new processes and effectively deal with change.
  • PC proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
