About the position

The Managing Director at Chemical Distribution Network (CDN) is responsible for overseeing the growth and efficient operation of the CDN Group Purchasing Programs and Shared Services. This role involves implementing strategic initiatives, managing financial operations, and collaborating with various stakeholders to maximize member value through effective programs and services.

Responsibilities

• Work with the CDN Board of Directors to enable the growth and efficient operation of the CDN Group Purchasing Programs and Shared Services.
• Implement strategic initiatives and operational plans for membership programs.
• Research and develop new purchase/supply programs.
• Establish and maintain communication and market information sharing among the CDN member companies.
• Organize and execute monthly/quarterly conference calls and face-to-face meetings.
• Find and qualify new members for the organization.
• Travel to CDN members to promote programs and participation in all activities.
• Collaborate with the Director of CDN Imports to provide necessary shared services (Human Resources, Payroll, Insurance, Goal Setting, Regulatory Requirements).
• Oversee the implementation and recording of all CDN financial transactions.

Requirements

• Experience with general ledger maintenance and financial statement management.
• Experience in coordinated sourcing program development for multiple locations.
• Experience implementing HR programs, including all applicable insurance.
• Previous employee management within the chemical industry is preferred.
