About the position

The Managing Director, Commercial Banking - Commercial Real Estate (CRE) is a top-level leadership role responsible for executing the strategic plan of the division and guiding the team to meet the Bank's growth and customer retention targets. This position involves identifying target markets for new business, developing relationships, negotiating and underwriting complex corporate banking loans, and supporting the Head of Institutional Commercial Real Estate.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the division's strategic plan and guide the team to meet growth and retention targets.
  • Identify target markets for new business and develop a book of new business from those relationships.
  • Negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major corporate banking loans in compliance with lending policies.
  • Engage in business development activities and solicit new business based on target market analysis.
  • Compile and analyze market research data to develop product and service recommendations.
  • Maintain a customer database and report on new business relationships.
  • Perform pre-qualification assessments and analyze financial conditions of financing requests.
  • Gather information for financing requests to present to senior management or Loan Committee for approval.
  • Represent the Bank in community functions to enhance its image and develop business opportunities.
  • Manage and develop a team of lenders and analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Ten (10) or more years of related experience in banking or financial services.
  • Basic lending background including negotiating, underwriting, and closing various types of loans.
  • Knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations.
  • Experience in financial statement and tax return analysis.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Bank lending procedures and products.
  • Exceptional analytical, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills in word processing and spreadsheet software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in relationship development within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of community reinvestment functions.
