About the position

As a Managing Director in Commercial Banking focused on Commercial Real Estate (CRE), you will hold a top-level leadership role responsible for executing the division's strategic plan. Your primary focus will be on meeting the Bank's annual growth and customer retention targets by identifying target markets for new business and developing a robust book of business. You will oversee the negotiation, underwriting, and closing of complex corporate banking loans while supporting the Head of Institutional Commercial Real Estate.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the division's strategic plan and guide the team to meet growth and retention targets.
  • Identify target markets for new business and develop a book of new business from those relationships.
  • Negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major corporate banking loans in compliance with lending policies.
  • Develop business checking and deposit relationships with customers.
  • Compile and analyze market research data to recommend products and services.
  • Engage in business development activities and solicit new business.
  • Maintain a customer database and report on new business relationships.
  • Perform pre-qualification assessments and analyze financial conditions and risks.
  • Gather information for financing requests and present to senior management or Loan Committee.
  • Maintain knowledge of financial industry trends and recommend improvements to products and services.
  • Represent the Bank in community functions to enhance its image and develop business.
  • Manage and develop a team of lenders and analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Ten or more years of related experience in banking or financial services.
  • Basic lending background including negotiating, underwriting, and closing various loans.
  • Experience in relationship development within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations.
  • Experience in financial statement and tax return analysis.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Bank lending procedures and policies.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and knowledge in relationship management.
  • Intermediate skills in word processing and spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
