About the position

This position is for a Senior Manager or Managing Director in a top 50 CPA firm specializing in Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) services. The role focuses on business development, client experience, leadership, mentorship, and technical advisory in real estate taxation. The firm is looking for a candidate who can drive growth, build strong client relationships, and provide exceptional service while mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for strategy and growth of the firm's REIT services, including identifying market trends and developing go-to-market strategies.
• Build strong relationships with clients, internal partners, and industry leaders to drive strategic hires and align skills with market trends.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring quality work and proactive service.
• Develop a comprehensive approach to meet the needs of REIT clients, focusing on structuring and compliance.
• Work with private equity real estate funds on entity structure and tax strategy, including waterfall calculations and 704(b) issues.
• Mentor and motivate team members, contributing to their training and development.
• Perform tax advisory, compliance review, and tax return signoff at a senior level.
• Act as a technical resource for internal and external inquiries.

Requirements

• 15+ years in public accounting with an emphasis in Real Estate taxation.
• Experience from larger firms, ideally top 100.
• Prior real estate industry experience is a plus.
• CPA license is required.
• M.S. in Taxation is preferred.
