About the position

The Managing Director in Financial Services at FTI Consulting is responsible for overseeing complex litigation, arbitration, and investigations. This role combines risk advisory, investigative, and dispute expertise to provide comprehensive solutions for clients. The position involves managing day-to-day activities, conducting research, developing work plans, and preparing reports while fostering business relationships to drive growth.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and performs day-to-day activities in support of financial institution consulting projects.
  • Interacts with client personnel, team members, and professionals from other firms involved in engagements.
  • Conducts technical, industry, and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information.
  • Develops work plans and executes analyses to assess complex questions of fact.
  • Prepares reports and schedules summarizing findings for clients and other parties.
  • Applies banking, compliance, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations.
  • Develops and reviews client policies and procedures, processes and controls, and risk assessments.
  • Recognizes opportunities for FTI to meet the needs of current and future clients.
  • Develops new business relationships with banking professionals, attorneys, and company personnel.
  • Organizes information to facilitate effective data access and analysis.
  • Supervises junior team members' work-product.
  • Maintains detailed working paper records reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information.
  • Delivers high-quality products within established timeframes and budgets.
  • Prepares written analyses and reports for third parties on project scope and results.
  • Prepares presentations and quantitative exhibits for third parties on project scope and findings.
  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships with client personnel and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in finance, business, or related field.
  • Desire to work towards CFE, CAMS, CRCM or other professional designation.
  • Twelve plus years of financial services experience, preferably in a bank regulatory capacity.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal laws applicable to financial institutions.
  • Experience evaluating compliance with such laws.
  • Advanced analytical and issue resolution intelligence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
  • Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously while managing time and budget.
  • Prior experience managing teams and developing others.
  • Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced skills in Excel.
