About the position
The Managing Director II Head of Originations role at Comerica Bank is a leadership position responsible for overseeing a team that specializes in structuring and pitching syndicated loans and capital market debt facilities. This role focuses on driving business development efforts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing the skills of team members in the loan syndications area.
Responsibilities
- Leads a team of loan syndications colleagues to grow net interest income (NII) through structuring and arranging syndicated loans and capital market debt facilities.
- Identifies and executes loan syndication business development efforts by collaborating with business relationship managers to engage clients.
- Responsible for training and advancing the development of senior bank colleagues on the Originations team and some members of the Distributions team.
- Ensures regulatory compliance and risk management training and monitoring for the team.
Requirements
- 4 year Bachelor Degree
- 10 or more years of experience in the Banking/Financial Services industry
- 7 years of experience in Investment Banking/Corporate Finance/Loan Syndications or related Capital Market areas, with knowledge of the loan syndication process and various private placement debt and equity products
- 3 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Licenses & Certifications: Series 7, 63, 79, 24 required; can have 24 in progress if not currently supervising.
