About the position

Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Managing Director of Investment Banking to lead our Specialty Finance/FIG practice. This position is critical for driving growth and enhancing our market presence in the investment banking sector. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in investment banking, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the financial markets. The role requires experience and relationships with relevant structures, including Business Development Companies (BDCs), Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs), and 1940 Act Companies. The Managing Director will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies that drive revenue growth and market share expansion. This includes cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry leaders, as well as identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities such as mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. In addition to strategic vision and client management, the Managing Director will oversee the preparation and presentation of pitch books, financial models, and other transaction-related documentation. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to best practices in financial services is also a key responsibility. The role involves representing the firm at industry conferences, client meetings, and other networking events, thereby enhancing the firm's visibility and reputation in the market. The successful candidate will be a leader who can inspire and guide a team of professionals while driving significant business growth for the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business strategies to drive growth in revenue and market share.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry leaders.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and other financial advisory services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in investment banking, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in originating and executing complex transactions.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial markets, investment banking products, and regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships at the highest levels.
  • Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
