About the position

The Managing Director, MedTech will oversee the implementation of the Minnesota MedTech 3.0 strategy, driving cross-sector collaboration to enhance Minnesota's leadership in medical technology innovation. This role involves significant visibility and responsibility, focusing on building a sustainable operational model for the MedTech hub, managing partner relations, and ensuring effective governance among stakeholders. The Managing Director will work closely with senior executives across various sectors to promote innovation and economic growth in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Build a sustainable operational and financial model for the MedTech hub.
  • Facilitate effective governance and leadership among partners.
  • Lead the MMT3.0 executive leadership group overseeing strategic direction.
  • Establish a clear revenue model for the hub and its personnel.
  • Manage the MMT3.0 hub dashboard and work plan with key personnel.
  • Oversee financial operations, impact evaluation, and grant reporting.
  • Drive adoption of the Minnesota MedTech 3.0 Equity Framework.
  • Engage and align stakeholders around the MMT3.0 strategy through consistent communication.
  • Manage risks and compliance with security protocols.
  • Drive implementation of the overall regional strategy and oversee strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in business, government, and/or non-profit sector.
  • Experience in or strong familiarity with the medical technology sector.
  • 5+ years of senior executive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated strength in taking complex challenges and generating stakeholder support.
  • Highly skilled at executive-level communication and storytelling.
  • Ability to work with a distributed team and engage multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree strongly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Content knowledge and existing relevant relationships in the MedTech sector.
  • History of providing thought leadership using data and leveraging subject matter experts.
  • Demonstrated strength in stakeholder management and relationship building.
  • Familiarity with economic and community development issues.
