About the position

This position is for a Senior Manager or Managing Director in a regional CPA firm recognized nationally for its excellence in the industry. The role focuses on business development and client experience within the firm's Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) services, requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams. Responsibilities

• Responsible for strategy and growth of the firm's REIT services, including identifying market trends and developing go-to-market strategies.
• Build strong relationships with clients, internal partners, and industry leaders to drive strategic technical leadership hires.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring quality work and proactive service.
• Develop a comprehensive approach to meet the needs of REIT clients, focusing on structuring and compliance.
• Work with private equity real estate funds on entity structure and tax strategy, including waterfall calculations and 704(b) issues.
• Mentor and motivate team members, contributing to their training and development.
• Perform tax advisory, compliance review, and tax return signoff at a senior level.
• Act as a technical resource for internal and external inquiries.

Requirements

• 15+ years in public accounting with an emphasis in Real Estate taxation.
• Experience from larger firms, ideally top 100.
• Prior real estate industry experience is a plus.
• CPA license is required.
• M.S. in Taxation is preferred.
