About the position

The American Political Science Association is seeking multiple Managing Editors for the American Political Science Review, with the option to work from home. This role involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the editorial process of the journal. The Managing Editor will conduct technical checks for all new submissions, ensuring that they meet the journal's standards before proceeding through the peer review process. This includes monitoring the progression of peer reviews and assisting the Editorial Team throughout the process. In addition to these tasks, the Managing Editor will track manuscripts from submission to publication or rejection, ensuring that all stages of the editorial process are documented and managed effectively. The role also requires monitoring the APSR Dataverse and publishing replication data for new articles, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity and transparency of the research published in the journal. Coordination is key in this position, as the Managing Editor will liaise between the APSR Editorial Team, the journal's publisher (Cambridge University Press), and the authors who submit their work.
