The University of North Georgia (UNG) is seeking a dedicated and creative student to fill the role of Managing Editor & Student Multicultural Ambassador within the Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) department on the Oconee campus. This federal work study position is an excellent opportunity for students to engage in meaningful work that promotes diversity, representation, and storytelling through the university's student-led magazine, Interconnected. The Managing Editor will play a pivotal role in leading the editorial team, overseeing the planning, design, and production of the magazine, which aims to celebrate the diverse cultural perspectives of the UNG community. In this role, the Managing Editor will coordinate content and student submissions, ensuring that all editorial standards are met, including quality, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines. The position requires attendance at various MSA events and tabling opportunities to promote the magazine, fostering a connection between the publication and the student body. Collaboration with contributors is essential to develop content that reflects the multicultural work of UNG students, providing a platform for their voices and stories. Additionally, the Managing Editor will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills in InDesign or recruit student designers, editors, and writers to assist with the magazine's production. Managing the magazine's production schedule from concept to distribution will be a key responsibility, ensuring that the publication is delivered on time and meets the expectations of the university community. This position is designed for students who are enrolled at UNG in a minimum of six credit hours, allowing them to balance their academic commitments with this enriching work experience.
