About the position

The Mandarin Substitute Teacher at Global Village Academy is responsible for delivering lessons in Mandarin during the absence of the regular teacher. This role involves maintaining a safe and effective learning environment while following the established curriculum and lesson plans. The position is part-time and does not guarantee a set number of hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Front Desk/Administrative Assistant upon arrival at school
• Maintains classroom routines
• Assumes the responsibilities of the classroom teacher using teacher's lesson plans and school curriculum
• Oversees student behavior during in-class time and other activities
• Maintains appropriate records
• Follows school policies and procedures that regular teachers are subject to
• Operates a remote classroom setting for students as needed
• Understands Teacher Support Technology (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, Infinite Campus)
• Communicates with the regular teacher and school administration
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A 'Substitute Teacher Authorization' from the Colorado Department of Education preferred
• Ability to operate remote classroom technology
