The Manager of Organizational Change Management plays a pivotal role in the One Finance initiative at The Home Depot, which is a comprehensive, multilayered, and multiyear project aimed at simplifying the financial systems landscape of the organization. This initiative is critical for transforming the finance function and supporting the overarching vision of One Home Depot. The current financial systems landscape is complex, consisting of 62 heavily customized applications across various platforms and databases, which are outdated and in need of modernization. The core finance system, SAP ECC, is set to go out of support in 2025, necessitating a migration to SAP S/4 on HANA on the Google Cloud Platform. This transition is not merely a technical upgrade; it is part of a broader business transformation mandate that seeks to streamline and standardize end-to-end processes, simplify the finance function, enhance profitability analysis, and enable flexible reporting through a unified “One Ledger” architecture. In this role, the manager will be responsible for strategic analysis and problem-solving, working to fully understand the business and identify opportunities for process and organizational improvements. This includes planning and ensuring the execution of departmental objectives, participating in the preparation of the annual budget, reviewing monthly expenditures, and ensuring that budgetary goals are met. The manager will also review monthly metrics to track performance and manage workload effectively. Additionally, the role involves leading, planning, and coordinating work teams to perform financial functions efficiently while ensuring compliance with established policies and driving key functional financial metrics. Project management is another critical aspect of this position. The manager will develop and support strategic alliances with business partners and participate in cross-functional activities aimed at solving business issues and enhancing competitive advantage. This includes facilitating communication across various departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate, Operations, and Information Systems. The position typically reports to a Director level and does not have any direct reports, allowing for a focus on strategic initiatives without the complexities of direct team management.
