About the position

The Hollister Group, a leading women-owned staffing firm in the Boston area, is seeking a Manual QA Engineer to join our Technology Staffing team. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products throughout the product life cycle, from design to commercial release. The ideal candidate will work closely with various teams, including development engineers and technical support, to enhance product scalability, usability, reliability, and performance. As a Manual QA Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing QA methodologies and adapting existing test automation processes to align with the organization's development needs. You will develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, standards, and processes, focusing on automated testing scripts. Additionally, you will optimize the existing test automation framework to support automated functional testing, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards before they reach our clients. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who enjoys problem-solving and is committed to finding the best solutions. You will leverage your strong analytical and organizational skills to contribute to the overall success of the product development process. Responsibilities

  • Participate in the product life cycle from design to commercial release, working alongside multiple teams.
  • Implement knowledge of QA methodologies and adapt existing test automation to meet the needs of the organization in the development process.
  • Develop and implement test strategies, test plans, standards, and processes in the development of automated testing scripts.
  • Optimize existing test automation framework for support of automated functional testing.
  • Collaborate with development engineers and technical support to address product scalability, usability, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technologies, or Information Management.
  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and development, with work on the entire product lifecycle.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, API and mobile testing, and test automation.
  • Experience using standard QA software tools with a comprehensive understanding of QA methodologies.
  • Strong database skills with hands-on SQL query writing and back-end validation.
  • Detail-oriented, likes to solve problems, and seeks many solutions before settling on the best.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
