About the position

As a Manual QA Engineer at BambooHR, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our software products that impact millions of users daily. This hybrid position involves collaborating with engineering and product teams to conduct thorough testing, identify bugs, and enhance the overall quality management approach. You will also have the opportunity to develop your mentoring and leadership skills while advocating for customer satisfaction throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with QA, engineering, and product teams to test new features and detect bugs.
• Create test cases and testing notes, executing them against various requirements.
• Triaging, reproducing, verifying, and documenting issues reported from customers.
• Participate in post-mortem/retrospective meetings to improve testing approaches.
• Review designs with the team to identify potential defects before development begins.
• Advocate for customers and quality throughout the development process.
• Mentor and train QA team members on skills, abilities, and tools.

Requirements

• 4-5+ years of experience in Manual QA (manual testing).
• 3+ years of experience utilizing API testing tools and frameworks, specifically Postman.
• Solid knowledge and 3+ years experience with database querying using SQL, including creating complex queries.
• Experience developing test plans and writing test cases/testing notes.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies within a specified project/scrum team.
• Ability to identify critical testing needs by identifying key interdependencies or risks.
• Ability to identify potential risks and opportunities pertaining to product quality.
