About the position

The Manual QA Tester for Guidewire Claim Centre position is a critical role that requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in delivering large multifunctional projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Property and Casualty (P&C) domain, which is essential for understanding the nuances of the insurance industry and the specific requirements of the Guidewire Claim Centre application. This role involves working closely with clients, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring that business priorities are met through effective communication and project management skills. In this position, the Manual QA Tester will be responsible for defining the Test Strategy and Test Plans, ensuring comprehensive test coverage, and maintaining requirement traceability throughout the testing process. The candidate will supervise a team, managing both onshore and offshore resources, and will be accountable for timely and quality deliveries. A strong understanding of QA methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, is crucial for success in this role. The Manual QA Tester will also engage in test consulting and assessment, particularly in the areas of test automation and process standardization. The role requires a solid understanding of SQL concepts, with hands-on experience in Oracle and SQL Server databases being a must. The candidate will be expected to conduct various types of manual testing, including Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and End-to-End Testing. Additionally, the tester will be responsible for updating all documentation with task details, providing regular updates to the team, and developing and maintaining the overall Test methodology and strategy. The position also involves creating Test Estimation, Test Plans, Test Cases, and executing those Test Cases. The Manual QA Tester will generate Test Execution Reports and Test Exit Reports, track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Metrics, and provide status and risk reporting. Interaction with the development and Business Analyst (BA) teams is essential for triaging defects and clarifying requirements. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned tasks, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define Test Strategy and Test Plans for the project.
• Manage onshore/offshore teams and client interactions as per business needs.
• Supervise the entire QA team and ensure timely and quality deliveries.
• Ensure test coverage and requirement traceability throughout the testing process.
• Review test scenarios and test cases to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Conduct various types of manual testing including Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and End-to-End Testing.
• Update all documentation with task details and provide regular updates to the team.
• Develop and maintain overall Test methodology and strategy.
• Create Test Estimation, Test Plans, Test Cases, and execute Test Cases.
• Generate Test Execution Reports and Test Exit Reports.
• Track KPIs and Metrics, and provide status and risk reporting.
• Interact with development and BA teams to triage defects and clarify requirements.
• Work independently and demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in delivering large multifunctional projects.
• Strong P&C domain experience.
• Experience defining Test Strategy and Test Plans.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies and SDLC (Waterfall and Agile).
• Experience in test consulting and assessment in test automation and process standardization.
• Strong understanding of SQL concepts with experience in Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Experience in various manual testing areas: Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and End-to-End Testing.
• Excellent communication skills.
