About the position

The Manual QA Tester will be responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of the Underwriting application through detailed testing and collaboration with both business and IT teams. This role involves analyzing business requirements, developing test plans, executing manual tests, and reporting issues to enhance the application’s performance and reliability. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication and problem-solving skills, who can work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the business requirements, system, and risk associated with changes from both an end user and IT standpoint.
• Collaborate with business and IT to document requirements and estimate testing efforts.
• Develop testing scenarios and write clear test plans for both functional and regression testing.
• Review test plans written by others and conduct manual tests within agile sprints.
• Document test results and report issues, generating, comparing, and validating test data.
• Work with internal and external development teams to execute test plans and provide feedback.

Requirements

• Manual QA experience with a focus on detail-oriented testing.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across departments.
• Strong time management skills and adaptability to changing requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Developer experience/knowledge
• Familiarity with SQL
• Familiarity with HP ALM (Quality Center)
• Understanding of claims workflows
• Familiarity with JIRA/Confluence (Atlassian products)
