About the position

The Robotics Programming Engineer will be a key member of the AMRT Robotics Team, focusing on the development and improvement of robotic programming for coatings within the GE Vernova Gas Power business. This role involves creating industrial robotic programs for thermal spray applications, implementing these programs in GE facilities, and providing ongoing technical support to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and modify existing robotic programs supporting thermal spray.
  • Develop industrial robot applications.
  • Create robot simulation models and off-line programs for coatings.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of robots and associated process equipment.
  • Provide technical support to robot operators, engineers, and technical workers through troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Train operators and engineers in robot programming, maintenance, and process applications.
  • Implement lean methodologies and tools in robotics processes for the global network.
  • Maintain and update Robotics Database and Robot Management System for coatings programs.
  • Maintain schedules for project deliverables.
  • Communicate progress to all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc robotic programming.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience in robot operations, sensors, servo systems, and motion control systems.
  • Programming experience supporting thermal spray applications.
  • Experience in off-line robot programming and simulation packages such as RobCad, RoboGuide, RobotStudio, I-Grip.
  • Process knowledge in thermal spray coating, surface finishing, or robotics.
  • CAD knowledge, preferably in UG.
  • Working knowledge of I/O, PLC, and bus communication.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Advanced English language skills.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to train and share knowledge with others.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with shop operations and quality systems.
  • Product knowledge of gas turbines/turbo machinery is a plus.
  • MSc in a related engineering field.
